Today I hate the button

I know the button is better than the temp tube. I know her temp tube was done and wouldn’t have made it another few hours. We knew all along the button would be inserted by week 12. But yesterday and today I hate the button. She wants her old temp tube back. We were comfortable with it. We knew and understood it. This one is new not as easy to hook up or disconnect. It scares her. I know this tube will become the new normal but today we hate it and that’s okay.

She is such a strong brave little girl who has had a crazy year full of procedures and surgeries and she is fed up. She knows this surgery was a must. She’s a fighter who keeps going and musters up the strength to let us do what we need to do to it even when you can tell it’s hurting.
