Long day at chop ——full of testing

The best part of her day
Eye test for alacrima
Gastric emptying test
So tired

Addyson was super excited she got to see a camel and a few alpacas this morning. Then we got started with our super busy day.

We started with the eye surgeon at 7am. He is a specialist in Oculoplastics. He did a bunch of tests on her tear glands. He says it doesn’t hurt but it surely didn’t look pleasant. She tolerated it well though. He ruled out a bunch of things.

Then we proceeded to ultrasound. She needed images of: kidneys, liver, gallbladder, spleen, bladder, and bowel. It was tough for them to get some of the images due to how full her stomach is with the ostomy and the g tube.

After that we had to go to the lab for some standard labs they run often on her

Lastly was her 4 hr gastric emptying test. This test lets us know how long it takes for food to pass through her stomach.

We are all doing well just a very long day. She had to fast for the gastric emptying test. All day being npo was a lot for her. We have a plan with mito stating we can’t be npo that long but for this test she had to be. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Now we are heading home from philly.
