Vacation post surgery

We went on vacation this past week. It was so nice. We all relaxed for a bit and did lots of site seeing. The kids experienced things they had never done before (indoor sky diving, ropes course, bungee jumping, virtual reality, flight simulator and more).

We watched Addyson conquer fears and we watched Ethen help her conquer some when she wasn’t sure she could do it alone. She has done so much medically that she’s been brave for ….. sometimes her fear of these more normal kid things catches us off guard. It was great watching Ethen help her overcome some of her anxieties.

Anxiety is so hard. It comes at random times. She wants so he’s to conquer these things but puts so much pressure on herself that it makes it even worse. We were so proud of them both this past week.

Now that we’re back home, we have to get back into our normal routine which means We have a busy week coming up.

– Addyson starts summer camp

– gets her hearing aids

– has her mito clinic appointment

– goes so see her surgeon to see how her new tube is working (fingers crossed it’s good).

– then we go to chop to see her motility dr and rheumatologist.

-and has softball practice for her upcoming tournament.

*note to our other medical moms and dads…. We learned that medical procedures like flushes are possible in the camper bathroom. It’s tight quarters but we did it!!! No stopping us now!

To our other camping families—-the Jellystone in pigeon forge has a nightly fire work show that goes off at Dollywood but is viewable from the campsite
